Who is responsible for your drains?
We are happy to clear your drain blockages, however some of the drains on your property might be the responsible of your local water authority. That means that you won't have to pay for it!
It depends on the type of property you live in and whether your drain is shared with a neighbour.
Detached houses
Your local water authority are responsible for blockages in the main sewer (red) and householders are responsible for all the drains up to the property boundary (purple).
Semi-detached or terraced houses
If you share a drain with your neighbour, the water authority are responsible for the shared section (red) and homeowners are responsible for their own connecting drains (purple).
Flats or apartments
If you live in a block of flats, the management company or owners are responsible for all drains up to the property boundary (purple) and your local water authority for drains beyond that (red).
